Chelsea suffered their first defeat of the new Premier League season in a dreadful afternoon for Thomas Tuchel at Elland Road against Leeds United. The hosts ran out 3-0 winners on the day, with the Blues looking lackluster throughout the game.
Jesse Marsch's pressing style proved problematic from the opening stages, with the first goal coming straight from their diligent work off the ball. Brenden Aaronson put pressure on goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, who failed to clear his lines in time, leaving the USMNT international an easy tap-in.
Just a few minutes later, that lead was doubled. Jack Harrison's free-kick beat found Rodrigo at the near-post, with his flick on beating absolutely everyone into the back of the net.

The pair combined again in the second half, with Harrison this time getting on the end of a Rodrigo cross to pile the misery on the travelling supporters. Adding insult to injury, Kalidou Koulibaly was given his marching orders with five minutes to go, meaning he will now miss the next game against Leicester City.
After a week of controversy, Tuchel won't be too impressed with how things have unfolded. Last Sunday saw the Blues drop two points in the last minute to London rivals Tottenham, with plenty of questions surrounding decisions from the officials.
Sideline spats played out more than once, with the final one resulting in Antonio Conte and Tuchel being sent off over a fiery handshake between the pair. That wasn't repeated this weekend, though, despite Marsch seemingly recreating his opposite number's run down the touchline celebration.
The American coach opted for a low five instead of a handshake, with less drama off the pitch than on it this week around. The Blues will be hoping that drama on it will switch in their favour next time, though.
