Next week’s matchup between the Washington Commanders (4-1) and the Baltimore Ravens (3-2) could be an early candidate for the NFL game of the year.
On one side, you have two-time MVP Lamar Jackson, joined by future Hall of Fame running back Derrick Henry to form one of the scariest backfield duos in years.
On the other side is Washington rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels and his backfield mates, Austin Ekeler and Brian Robinson Jr. Fans should expect a lot of points next week.
The quarterback matchup is the most intriguing storyline ahead of next Sunday’s game. It’s Jackson vs. Daniels. Daniels hasn’t been shy about expressing his admiration for Jackson in recent years.
After Sunday’s win over the Cleveland Browns, Washington could now focus on the Browns. Daniels was asked about facing Jackson after the game.
“Me and Lamar we–we’re very good,” Daniels said Sunday. “We have a good relationship. Obviously we have similar things in common, both on the Heisman but just being there for each other and he’s a hell of a player so I’m excited to be able to go out there and compete against him next week.”
Next week’s game should be a good one. It should also be fun to watch.
