What Jamie Carragher did after Harry Kane sealed dramatic Spurs win over Man City

Harry Kane stunned the Etihad on Saturday evening with a stoppage-time winner against Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola's side thought they had salvaged a point late on in proceedings when Riyad Mahrez converted a penalty past Hugo Lloris.

But there was one final twist as Tottenham Hotspur snatched all three points at the death to stun leaders City and give Liverpool renewed hope in the title race.

Connecting with Dejan Kulusevski's ball played to the back post, Kane headed past Ederson to send the Spurs supporters behind the goal into raptures.

On co-commentary for Sky Sports was Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher, who could not contain his excitement as the England international produced a grandstand finish to the game.

His Sky Sports counterpart Gary Neville is often known for his unique goal reactions, though it was the turn of the former Reds defender on this occasion to lose his control when live on air.

Producing a wolf-like sound as the ball nestled in the back of the net, Carragher then applauded the performance of the Tottenham talisman.

"And this is why football is the greatest game you will ever see! He is onside this time," he said.

"You thought it was going to hurt them [Spurs] not getting that next goal, but you just didn't expect this.

"Harry Kane uses his body fantastically. Man of the match, no doubt. He gets ahead of his England team-mate Kyle Walker and what a performance.

"I thought there would be a goal, but I thought it would be for Man City."

After the match, Carragher said: "It’s not just a massive day for the top four race but the title race. A tantalising prospect with Liverpool still to come to the Etihad."
