It was another Tottenham performance where they got the job done. Champions League nights are back in N17 but Spurs made hard work of their first game back in Europe's top competition.
That they did not have a shot on target until they opened the scoring in the 77th minute tells you all you need to know about their display. And they got a bit of help from Marseille along the way, Chancel Mbemba's red card making things easier for the home team.
As with most of their games this season, Spurs just did not hit top gear. But as with all of their games this season, they managed to get a result, winning 2-0 in the end.

Richarlison was the hero of the hour, netting his first and second goals in a Tottenham shirt. And his first ever in European competition, on his debut.
It was just reward after seeing what he thought was his first Spurs goal chalked off for offside against Fulham on Saturday. Rightly so, we should add.
Two headers, two goals, you can't ask for more than that. And he was an emotional man after scoring the first.
But it was what Ivan Perisic did that caught the eye. The Croatian had whipped a beautiful ball in for the Brazilian to head home past one-time Spurs loanee Pau Lopez.
Perisic was naturally one of the last on the scene, having to get from one side of the pitch to the other to celebrate. No one else was around when he came to congratulate Richarlison, so to make sure he knew he was there, as the frontman enjoyed his moment with the crowd, Perisic gave him a little kick before shaking his hand and giving him a hug.
It was a playful kick, but a kick nonetheless. Probably to say 'I put that on a player for you'. And he did.
