As Tyson Fury quits boxing and spends more time with his wife, Paris, and their six children, we get an inside look at his life in the new Netflix documentary At Home With the Furys.
We see inside the Fury family's opulent Morecambe estate in the series, which made us question what his net worth is.
To learn more, we looked closely at his boxing earnings and other assets.
Who is Tyson Fury?
Fury is a professional boxer, who since 2020 has held the heavyweight championship of the World Boxing Council.
Before this, he twice held the Ring magazine title between 2015 and 2022, as well as the unified heavyweight belts from 2015 to 2016.
During his first stint as champion, he also held the International Boxing Organisation championship.
Fury represented both England and Ireland in amateur competition because his parents were Irish Travellers and he was born in Manchester. Fury's parents immigrated to England when they were young and his family has roots in Belfast and Galway.
Boxing has a lengthy history with the Fury family. In the 1980s, Fury's father competed as “Gipsy” John Fury, first as an unlicensed, bare-knuckle boxer and later as a professional boxer.
When Fury and Paris (née Mullroy) first met, they were both 17 years old. They started dating and they got married at St Peter in Chains Catholic Church in Doncaster, South Yorkshire in 2008. They have three sons, who are all named Prince, and three girls.
Although neither of Fury's parents actively observed their respective religions, his mother was a Protestant and his father was Catholic. Fury was instead introduced to religion by his uncle, a born-again Christian and Pentecostal preacher in the Irish Traveller community.
What is his net worth?
According to celebritynetworth, Fury has a net worth of $65 million (£50 million).
Fury had a very good year in his boxing career in 2022. He defeated opponents including Derek Chisora and Dillian Whyte, and he reportedly took home more than £45 million.
He also “kicked out Deontay Wilder in the 2020 rematch and earned about $26 million, pushing his 12-month earnings in the ring to $50 million,” according to Forbes, and “made an estimated $60 million combined from another rematch with Wilder in 2021 and an April 2022 fight against Dillian Whyte”, the publication adds.
According to sport accounting specialist Kieran Maguire, Fury had £43 million in the bank as of late March, per his end-of-year bank statement.
The Furious Method, Behind the Mask and Gloves Off are three of Tyson's bestselling books. He also has his own line of Furiocity energy drinks, which are sure to be a financial success.
