What is the new DMZ game mode in Warzone 2?

With Activision's battle royale sequel launching worldwide very soon, many players will be able to experience a variety of new features.

However, one of the more anticipated parts of Warzone 2 will be the introduction of the DMZ game mode. For anyone who's played Escape From Tarkov, this game mode will feel incredibly familiar.

From what we know so far, DMZ will allow players to team up in three-man squads and take on faction-based missions across Warzone 2's new map, Al Mazrah. While either fighting or dodging enemy players, they can also search for loot and survive until being extracted to safety.

The factions we currently know will be present in Warzone two are Legion, Black Mous, and White Lotus. These factions will give you missions during a DMZ match which you can complete whenever you want.

DMZ will also differ from the regular battle royale mode in the way it starts - instead of starting from a plane and landing where you want, players will enter the map at random points. Furthermore, if you don't like the idea of playing with two other random players in your team, you will have the option to play solo or in a duo squad with one other person.

There will also be contracts and other activities to do during a DMZ match such as finding intel, assassinating AI targets, rescuing hostages, delivering cargo, hunting enemy players, and destroying supply sites.

Inventory is also a different story in DMZ - unlike the battle royale mode, players will have a backpack with limited space in which they can carry a loadout, field upgrades, armour, and other items found in the match.
