Many NBA fans have called the Boston Celtics a “super team” this season due to their formidable roster, but not everyone agrees. While they may not be a super team in the vein of the Kevin Durant-era Golden State Warriors to “Hoops Tonight’s” Jason Timpf, he believes the Celtics have elite top-to-bottom roster talent.
Timpf doesn’t have them as a true “super team” because Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown aren’t on the level of players like Giannis Antetokounmpo or Nikola Jokic yet. Even if the Celtics win the title this year, they’ll likely have to go through teams with better star talent. But Timpf sees huge potential for growth with Tatum, who he believes there’s a version of where he’s a top 3-4 player.
Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear the finer details of Timpf’s assessment of the Celtics.
