The popular television show RuPaul Drag Race has attracted the allegiance of fans across the world.
Dubbed the “Queen of Drag”, RuPaul has made a name for himself as a producer, host, and judge in the reality competition, winning a host of accolades for the show.
As such, RuPaul’s DragCon UK was born - a fan convention and expo of drag culture based around the American event of the same name, which was held in Los Angeles and New York City.
The London convention will see a surge of queens and drag enthusiasts making their way for the three-day event.
What is RuPaul’s DragCon?
This year’s DragCon UK will see more than 100 queens from the Drag Race franchise, with RuPaul’s DragRace: UK vs the World contestants also making an appearance, including the likes of Paingina Heals, Lemon, Baga, Chipz, and Mo Heart.
All the queens will be under one roof, set for a celebration of fashion, big hair, glitter, and all-round fabulousness.
The event is described as a cornucopia of drag excitement, including an exclusive DJ set from RuPaul, drag performances, special appearances, story time, and the highly anticipated “Queen’s Walk”.
Where and when is RuPaul’s DragCon London?
Back in March last year, RuPaul’s DragCon UK announced the popular convention will be making a return after its hiatus during the Covid pandemic.
The three-day convention will take place at the Exhibition Centre in London from January 6 to January 8, 2023.
Entrance is at the West Entrance at Custom House on either the Elizabeth line or the DLR.
Special appearances at the event include Michelle Visage, Anubis, Asttina Mandella, Ava Hangar, Baby, Genie, Ivana Vamp, and plenty more.
The full list of Queen appearances can be seen here.
