Netflix has teased the release of its new One Piece series with a poster, but what is it?
One Piece started out as a manga (a Japanese comic or graphic novel) written by Eiichiro Oda, and was adapted into an anime that ran for more than 20 seasons. Now, fans of the manga and anime can see their favourite characters come to life in Netflix's live action adaptation.
The series follows Monkey D. Luffy, or Straw Hat Luffy on his quest to find the One Piece, a mythical treasure that will make him King of the pirates. In the manga, Luffy eats a Devil Fruit which gives him superhuman abilities, such as immunity to electrical damage.

The world of One Piece is set on a planet that is almost entirely made of water, with two oceans divided by a mountain range, the red line. It also has some fantastical elements beyond Luffy's superhuman abilities, as the series features fish-men and giants.
On the Netflix series' official Instagram account, fans were given a sneak peek into how some of their favourite elements of the anime and manga are being brought to life.
The official Twitter account for the Netflix series has released the poster for the new series, captioning it: "Adventure is on the horizon! ONE PIECE sets sail in 2023. Click Remind Me to add it to your list." The poster features an image of Luffy facing away from the camera, recognisable by his iconic straw hat.
The Netflix series will star Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Gibson as Usopp and Taz Skylar as Sanji.
