What is on Children in Need this year? BBC show to feature Weakest Link, Lewis Capaldi and more

It's an event that the whole country looks forward to year after year and on Friday night, Children in Need will take over BBC One once again for its annual appeal show.

Snce 1980, when the live appeal show as we know it launched for the first time, millions of us have been tuning into the annual fundraiser, helping to raise millions for children's charities.

In fact, two years ago Children in Need passed the £1billion mark and will be hoping to raise plenty more money for extremely worthwhile causes this year, after a tough few years for everyone due to the Covid pandemic and uncertain times at present due to the cost of living crisis.

For nearly four decades now, big stars have joined in the Children in Need fun, with the likes of S Club 7, Martine McCutcheon, Will Young and Girls Aloud all releasing singles for the charity and plenty of A-listers giving guest appearances in the studio. Like the broadcasts over the last years, the 2022 appeal show on November 18 won't be the mammoth show viewers have become used to.

There was a time when millions used to stick with Children in Need as it rain into the ertly hours of the following morning , but this year it will air on BBC One for just three hours from 7 to 10pm. That's not to say there isn't a lot lined up for those three hours though.
