After coaching both at the college level and in the NFL, Day came to Ohio State on January 3, 2017. A year and a half later, Day was named the acting head coach at Ohio State, replacing Urban Meyer and won his first three games as a head coach. He later assumed the job on a full-time basis following the Rose Bowl that season.
