Manchester United are open to offers for midfielder James Garner this summer, potentially placing Everton on red alert.
Frank Lampard's side have previously been reported as admirers of the 21-year-old, who has struggled for first-team minutes throughout his career with the Red Devils. Indeed, Garner has made only seven senior appearances for the club and has instead proven his worth out on loan.
The youngster spent the first half of the 2020/21 season with Watford before joining Nottingham Forest for the second half of the same campaign. Garner returned to Forest last term and featured a total of 41 times as Steve Cooper's side won promotion to the Premier League.

There were suggestions United would give their young talent a chance after playing a key role in this achievement, but the Manchester Evening News have claimed Erik ten Hag's side will now consider offers between £15 million and £20 million.
Whether or not Everton decide to act on this transfer stance remains to be seen, though one certainty appears to be Garner's refusal to sit around on the substitutes' bench. Describing his aims for the 22/23 season last month, he told PA: “I played in some big pressure games and I just think it's a new and improved me. It was almost as perfect a loan experience as I could possibly have had. However, because I've played two seasons back-to-back, where I've been playing games non-stop, I don't really want to stop that.
“I want to play week in, week out. That is of course what I want to do, I'm not too sure but pre-season has been good so far and, like I said, hopefully in the next two, or three weeks - we've still got games left - I can show what I can do," continued Garner.
“I want to play for United. Of course that’s obviously my aim. But I feel like if I'm not going to be playing as regularly as I would like to then I'm definitely open to going back on loan to a Premier League side.”
