British actor Hannah Waddingham has been making appearance as a guest judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.
She let the cat out of the bag, so to speak, about her contribution to the latest series when appearing on US talk show programme Jimmy Kimmel Live in July.
With RuPaul guest hosting the episode, Waddingham told the audience: "I'm a guest judge on RuPaul's Drag Race UK.
“I mean, I was giddy as all hell about that... I was like: 'Can't believe I'm here'."
With fans of Drag Show able to spot her at 9pm on BBC Three tonight (October 20), here is where else you might have seen her work.
What has Hannah Waddingham starred in?
Regular watchers of Sex Education, Game Of Thrones, ITV's Benidorm and Ted Lasso should all recognise the 48-year-old.
She won an Emmy for her role as Rebecca Welton, the owner of AFC Richmond in Ted Lasso, the comedy series on Apple TV+.
The mother-of-one bagged the role after playing Septa Unella on HBO’s Game Of Thrones series, playing the character — who dressed in nun-like clothing — over the course of eight episodes across series five and six.
The Londoner has opened up about being waterboarded for 10 hours while on set while making the fantasy drama.
Her character famously shouted “shame” repeatedly during Cersei Lannister’s (Lena Headey) naked walk of atonement, tolling a bell as she accompanied her.
Septa was later tortured by Cersei in season six when the power balance was overturned.
Recalling filming the scenes, she told Collider Ladies Night: "Other than childbirth, it was the worst day of my life.
"But in those moments you have to think, do you serve the piece and get on with it or do you chicken out and go, 'No, this isn't what I signed up for, blah, blah, blah?'"
Waddingham was reportedly given the so-called “shame bell” as a parting gift following the completion of her scenes.
Fans of less intense dramas might recall spotting Waddingham in the popular British Netflix series Sex Education.
She has a recurring role as swimmer-turned-brainbox Jackson's overbearing mother, Sophia Marchetti.
Having also sung and appeared on the stage, Waddingham has not just confined herself to TV appearances.
She has been in the screen adaptation of Les Miserables, the Simon Pegg film How To Lose Friends and Alienate People and also plays Mother Witch in the belated sequel, Hocus Pocus 2, which is currently on Disney+.
