What has Fleur East been doing since X Factor as she performs at Flackstock

The wait for Flackstock is finally over, with the festival kicking off at 4pm on July 25, until 10.30pm.

There will be appearances from plenty of major stars at the event, including Natalie Imbruglia, Ronan Keating, Pixie Lott, Olly Murs, Louise Redknapp, Paddy McGuinness, Joel Dommett, June Sarpong and Dermot O'Leary, plus Strictly dancers.

Fleur East will also be there, with the star first coming to the fore thanks to her appearance on X Factor in 2014.

She will be honouring the memory of Caroline Flack with her performance on stage.

Fleur has been keeping busy over the past eight years, and has even tried her hands at work outside of music.

What is Flackstock?

Flackstock is a day festival commemorating and celebrating the life of former Love Island host Caroline Flack.

Taking place at Englefield House, Pangbourne, family and friends of the presenter are gathering together for an evening of music, comedy and dance.

Caroline’s mum Christine said: “Flackstock is a wonderful idea of those who knew her best and the perfect way to remember her singing, dancing and most of all laughing.”

What happened to Fleur East?

Fleur East came second in X Factor 2014 (Coventry Telegraph)

Fleur came in second place when she joined the 2014 season of The X Factor, losing out on the top spot to Ben Haenow.

It was actually her second appearance on the talent show, after originally making her entrance in 2005 as part of the group Addictiv Ladies.

Addictiv Ladies were less successful, only lasting until week one when they were knocked out of the contest.

Fleur’s solo outing was a massive success, as in 2014, she signed with Simon Cowell ’s record label Syco Music.

One year later, she released her debut album Love, Sax and Flashbacks, which charted at 14 in the UK.

Lead single Sax made it all the way to the number three spot in the charts.

In July of that year, she stepped out of comfort zone and launched her own fashion collection with Lipsy London, proving she had more talents than just music.

In 2017, she left the record label through a mutual agreement, which freed her up to pursue television.

The following year, she starred in I’m A Celebrity… Get me Out Of Here!, ultimately finishing in fourth place.

2018 was a busy year for Fleur, as she delighted fans with the news of her first single in four years, Favourite Thing.

This was followed up with joining Hits Radio alongside James Barr and Greg Burns.

She has continued to release music and work in radio since, and in 2020 she even dropped a track to help the NHS during the coronavirus pandemic.

Her song Not Alone, which released in April 2020, gave 100% of its proceeds to the Covid-19 NHS appeal.
