What Harry Kane gifted Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson after breaking Wayne Rooney record

Harry Kane has presented Liverpool pair Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold, along with the rest of their England team-mates, special personalised gifts to commemorate the striker breaking the Three Lions goalscoring record in March.

The England captain, who now has 55 international goals, overtook Wayne Rooney’s total of 53 goals for his country when scoring a penalty in the Three Lions’ 2-1 Euro 2024 qualifier against Italy during the last international break.

England are back in Euro 2024 qualification action this month as they take on Malta on Friday night, before hosting North Macedonia at Old Trafford on Monday. And with the June international break marking the first time the Three Lions squad have linked up since Kane broke Rooney’s record, the Tottenham striker has presented all of his international colleagues with a personalised gift as a thank you for their efforts in helping him become his country’s leading goalscorer.

Each player was presented with a frame containing a ‘broken’ golden vinyl. The record read: 'Harry Kane record breaker. England's all-time leading goalscorer. Greatest hits collection vol. 1 2015-2023' and featured a full list of the 29-year-old’s 54 record-breaking goals.

Below the vinyl record, there is a personalised picture of Kane with each corresponding team-mate. His chosen image alongside Henderson is of the pair celebrating the striker’s 11th international goal, coming against Slovenia at Wembley in October 2017. Meanwhile, his picture with Alexander-Arnold is of the two in training at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The pair's gifts also feature a plaque that reads 'Presented to Jordan Henderson' and 'Presented to Trent Alexander-Arnold' respectively, along with a special message of thanks, before adoring Kane’s signature.

It reads: “This gift is a sign of my appreciation for the part you have played in assisting me to become England's all-time leading goalscorer. Without you and all my team-mates, this would not have been possible. Thank you for the part you have played during my time with England, both on and off the pitch.”

Kane has played 44 times alongside his England vice-captain Henderson, with only five of his international team-mates lining up next to him more often, while he has won 14 of his caps alongside Alexander-Arnold. And the Liverpool pair have each set up one of the striker’s 55 goals, with the Spurs forward finishing off a cross from the right-back in a 7-0 thrashing of Montenegro in November 2019, and heading home a cross from the Reds skipper in a 5-0 win over Albania in November 2021.

The England captain, who posed for pictures with each of his team-mates when presenting the special gifts, would also share his thanks on social media.

“I couldn't have broken the England all-time goalscoring record without the support of my team-mates and managers who have helped me along the way,” he posted. “This gift is a massive thank you from me to all those who I've shared a changing room with since my debut. Thank you.”
