What happens to the Golden Boot as Mohamed Salah and Son Heung-min finish level

Son Heung-Min has officially won the Golden Boot alongside Mohamed Salah with both attackers finishing the season with 23 goals. The South Korean scored twice in Spurs' penultimate game of the season as they confirmed their Champions League spot with an emphatic 5-0 win over Norwich City.

Dejan Kulusevski opened the scoring, as he scored another in the second along with Harry Kane and Son to complete the win. At Anfield, Mo Salah scored late on as Liverpool missed out on the Premier League trophy in dramatic fashion with Manchester City scoring three goals in the second-half to comeback from being 2-0 down.

It means that Salah and Son will share the Golden Boot with the two finishing on 23 goals. It is the third time Salah has won the award, whilst Son takes it for the first time in his career.

Son has played a huge part in Spurs being able to take the last Champions League place ahead of Arsenal, being one of the season's top performers throughout the Premier League.

Unlike other competitions, which use assists to decide who would finish with the crown, the Premier League's rules state that in the event of a tie, the Golden Boot will be shared.

This has happened twice before in the competition's history. The first time this happened was in the 2010/11 Premier League season where Manchester United's Dimitar Berbatov and Manchester City's Carlos Tevez finished top of the scoring charts with 20 goals each.
