Lionel Messi wasn't the only person struggling to comprehend Liverpool's remarkable Champions League comeback against Barcelona.
James Milner and Gini Wijnaldum were among several Reds crying tears of joy after the magnificent 4-0 win at Anfield in their semi-final second leg on Tuesday.
Messi's reaction, though, was somewhat more different.
The Argentine was disconsolate as he left the field alone after watching Barcelona surrender a 3-0 first-leg win at Camp Nou last week in which he scored twice.
And it has now emerged Messi was in tears in the away dressing room at Anfield after the match after seeing hopes of a fifth Champions League triumph extinguished.
Messi had made a point at the start of the season of making another European Cup his priority, despite Barcelona strolling to the domestic title and reaching the final of the Copa del Rey.
Instead, it's Liverpool who are going to the final in Madrid on June 1.
