Ariana Grande was once a recurring role in the shape of Cat Valentine in a number of Nickelodeon productions from Victorious to Sam and Cat.
When these roles came to an end in 2014, Ariana had already taken her first tentative steps towards forging a music career.
Her debut album had been released and as her acting career seemingly came to a halt, a second album - My Everything - produced four top ten hits in the US.
Dangerous Women followed in 2016 and Ariana was well on her way to becoming one of the biggest music stars in the world.
For those who starred with her in the Nickelodeon shows, it was almost universally a different story once the TV work came to an end.
Here's the stories of what happened next for Ariana's Nick alumni.
Jennette McCurdy
Jennette was one of the main stars of that Nickelodeon era, playing Sam Puckett in iCarly, Victorious and Sam and Cat.
In the past couple of years, 26-year-old Jennette has opened up about her long battle with eating disorders.
She revealed that since the age of 11 she had to deal with anorexia, bulimia and disordered eating, with the blame being larger laid at the door of her late mother.
In an essay for Huffington Post, Jennette wrote: "As a child actress working in Hollywood, I quickly learned that remaining physically small for my age meant I had a better chance of booking more roles.
"Unfortunately, I had a trusty and dedicated companion ready to help me with my burgeoning anorexia: my mom!”
Jennette has said she doesn’t “hold this against” her mum, who passed away from breast cancer in 2013, and has spent the past couple years beating the disorders.
Cameron Ocasio
Now 19, Cameron has continued to play roles on TV from Law & Order: Special Victims Unit to Sinister.
Cameron played Dice in all 35 episodes of Sam and Cat and has now signed for an international modelling agency.
He's a black belt in martial arts, so probably not one to mess with.
Victoria Justice
Victoria was one of the big stars of this Nickelodeon generation, playing Lola Martinez in Zoey 101 between 2005 and 2008 before becoming Tori Vega on Victorious until 2013.
Despite winning multiple awards for her work during this period, acting pretty much dried up in the years since, as Victoria threw herself into charity work.
During an interview with Seventeen, Victoria said: "I was looking into different charities and hearing these girls in Guatemala and Africa talk about having to walk miles for water and crying because they don't have any money to go to school.
"It just really broke my heart, so I want to spread the word as much as I can and get other people working together. Before you know it we can actually make a difference."
In recent years, the 26-year-old has lived a life of festivals, tropical islands and wearing barely there bikinis, which she has documented on Instagram , racking up over 16 million followers in the process.
Elizabeth Gillies
From 2010 to 2013, Elizabeth played Jade West in Victorious. One of the few to continue with an acting career into her 20's, bagging the main role in FX series Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll.
Since 2017, Elizabeth has starred as Fallon Carrington in the reboot of Dynasty, playing a second character, Alexis Carrington, as well after Nicollette Sheridan left the role.
Speaking about her involvement to TV Line, Elizabeth said: "I thought it was pretty wild. I’ve always loved the character of Alexis, even from the original Dynasty.
"When they presented it to me, I thought it was crazy, but I love a challenge and it felt like a big one to me."
Daniella Monet
Daniella is best known for playing Trina Vega in Victorious but didn't really continue with a TV career after the Nickelodeon shows came to an end.
Instead, Daniella threw herself into supporting animal welfare causes, becoming vegan in the process.
She stood with Ariana in spreading the word in calling for people to stop supporting SeaWorld.
In December 2017, Daniella became engaged to Andrew Gardner after seven years of dating and on April 3 this year, the couple announced that they were expecting their first child.
Leon Thomas III
Leon played Andre Harris in Victorious and has had a big effect on Ariana's early pop career.
Leon co-wrote four songs on Ariana's 'Yours Truly' album in 2013. He also co-produced five songs on Yours Truly, in addition to the song Last Christmas from Ariana's Christmas Kisses EP.
As half of production duo The Rascals he won a Grammy award with the album Love, Marriage & Divorce.
He also wrote songs for Toni Braxton.
Matt Bennett
Matt is best known for playing the role of Robbie Shapiro in Victorious, in which he was a nerdy oddball character.
He continued with this persona in his real-life and went on to produce a number of albums and singles of dubious quality, as he looked to bring humour to the music world.
One such body of work, Terminal Cases, was described by Matt as "a concept album about my parents divorce where every song is inspired by different Robin Williams movies."
