"We want to take our culture and our demands, and who do we want to be as a club and how we want to represent this club to a different level," said Mikel Arteta after breaking the news that former-Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was being stripped of his leadership role. Less than one year on from that decision and the culture he wanted is clear to see.
The Gunners have adopted a positive and expressive style on and off the pitch and, now lead by 23-year-old Martin Odegaard, nobody in the Premier League has a younger squad than Arteta. His inexperience in management had led to labels of naivety and mismanagement during spells last term but with a 100% record after two games this campaign, Arsenal have a glow around them.
It's come from making tough decisions to move on senior players, admitting previous mistakes and fostering a positive team atmosphere. That has been created and now the group are seeing the rewards with free-flowing attacking football on the pitch.

With six goals scored and six points after two games, Arsenal have been a joy to watch over pre-season and now in the opening fortnight of the Premier League. Spearheaded by Gabriel Jesus, the club's new No.9, and Oleksandr Zinchenko, there is now experience and knowhow to add to the baby-faced, talented squad.
None more than Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe show this shift towards young players, and now Arteta can see the links being made between his starlets and his new signings after an entertaining video emerged following the win against Leicester City.
In the celebrations for Granit Xhaka's goal - to make it 3-1 - Jesus is seen being taken away with the emotion of it as he continually hits Smith Rowe in the head. Although they were small taps to the back of his neck, and Smith Rowe is trying to bury himself in the avalanche of bodies, the fun was there for everyone to see. There was already a large group of players embroiled in a joyous hug, congregating as a squad with the substitutes joining in, showing togetherness and an alignment that those watching at the Emirates loved.
Reddit had a different reaction to the video though, instead choosing to mock previous Arsenal teams and taking a sinister slant on the video. Some of the comments below the video said, "The club should ban him for a few matches for this display," and, "No more second chances. Tear up his contract send him to Barcelona for free."
Others jokingly worried about how this could affect Smith Rowe when returns to the team, saying, "I think there needs to be a thorough investigation in to the toxic culture at Arsenal, there seems to be an ongoing issue with players smacking each other repetitively on the head following goal celebrations. This can not be tolerated and is only going to cause brain damage to our young stars."
There was also a nod to the rivalry between Manchester City and Arsenal, with one account hinting that Jesus had an evil plan to injury his new teammate, commenting, "ex Man City striker assaults Arsenal prodigy."
Clearly Arsenal fans are happy with their current position and feel happy to joke about the small things going on, with more users adding, "damn it, two weeks into the season and we've already imploded. embarrassing to see," and, "Toxic locker room presence."
