What Gabriel Jesus and Edu did after striker spotted ahead of Arsenal transfer announcement

Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus has been pictured with Arsenal director of football Edu ahead of a £45 million move to the Emirates this summer.

Rumours that Arsenal were interested in signing the striker stretch back into last season but it appears a deal is finally going to go through this week. Jesus is reportedly having his medical in north London on Tuesday with the transfer expected to be officially announced within the next 72 hours.

Mikel Arteta has been eager to bolster his attacking options this summer with both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette both departing in the last six months. With Nicolas Pepe also continuing to be linked with a move away, it would be a surprise if Jesus is the last attacking recruit to arrive.

Goalkeeper Matt Turner and midfielder Fabio Vieira have already been recruited this summer and it is now a matter of time until Jesus joins them through the door. He will join a growing Brazilian contingent at the Emirates with Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhaes already in place and the club trying to bring Raphinha in from Leeds as well.

On Tuesday morning The Sun obtained pictures of Jesus meeting Edu as the countdown continues until his announcement. The compatriots were pictured embracing as the striker stepped out of the car, a big smile across the face of Jesus as well.
