Erik ten Hag told his Manchester United team it was unacceptable for them to fail to score against Atletico Madrid after carving out numerous chances in Oslo.
United had the better of their pre-season friendly against the La Liga side but lost to the only goal of the game from Joao Felix in the closing stages.
Ten Hag's side played well in the Norwegian heat and created plenty of chances, but their finishing cost them, with Anthony Martial, Anthony Elanga, Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire all missing good opportunities.

While Ten Hag was pleased with United's performance, he told the players they had to be sharper in front of goal in future.
“In the end, it’s about the result and the score is not good, you have to take benefit if you take chances," he told MUTV. "I think we create many chances, a lot to produce one goal but we didn’t do, from the less chances they create they score one. With that point I'm not satisfied, I’ve told the team it’s not acceptable, you have to be sharp in the box in both sides."
Ten Hag was happy with the way United controlled the game in Oslo and their counter-attacks but was disappointed to be beaten.
“Our possession game, our transition game was really good, we create a lot of threat for them, we had weapons, we create opportunities," he said. "Also from set plays, a big chance for Harry Maguire, we had enough but it wasn’t enough to win the game and that’s always our aim."
