Erik ten Hag has claimed that Antony does not need to prove himself at Manchester United ahead of a potential debut against Arsenal on Sunday.
Antony was finally unveiled as a United player on Thursday after an arduous series of negotiations that lasted the entire summer transfer window. Ajax agreed to let the 22-year-old leave for an initial fee of €95million (£82.2m) that could eventually rise to €100m (£86.5m).
Although the Brazilian was not registered in time to play in United's 1-0 win over Leicester City, he could make his debut at Old Trafford on Sunday when the Reds take on Arsenal. Ten Hag will know just how dangerous Antony can be from their time together at Ajax, and is confident that the explosive winger has the right mentality to succeed in the Premier League.

The Dutchman sat down with Sky as he explained to them what Antony will bring to this United squad, and how quickly he expects the forward to get up to speed with the rhythm and intensity of English football.
Ten Hag said: "He proved himself already. Champions League, Brazilian national team and Olympic gold medalist. Brazil has a number of players so high talented. You can select two or three teams and he can deal with the pressure. He will bring temperament and creativity.
"Also for him it is a new start and he has to adapt to the team, to the Premier League and to the high intensity. But I'm sure he will adapt."
Questioned on whether Antony's transfer fee could impact his performance, Ten Hag replied: "He can deal with that. He lives for football and enjoys it. He is focusing on that and to improve his game for the team. When he is doing that, performances will come."
