What Eric Dier did with Ryan Sessegnon in the Etihad Stadium tunnel ahead of Man City vs Spurs

Spurs' central defender Eric Dier was caught on camera offering some advice pre-match to young wing-back Ryan Sessegnon ahead of Tottenham's clash against Man City.

In midst of a chaotic week for the Lilywhites that saw an unexpected Antonio Conte interview drop, the return of Dier will certainly lift moods for the upcoming months as Tottenham look to get themselves back in the top four race after poor recent form.

"I like when we can speak about football and not other situations! Dier is available, fit and OK," Conte said when questioned about team news in his pre-match press conference.

Spurs' number 15 offers experience and leadership at the back - something that was missing in the most recent defeats against Southampton and Wolves respectively.

After Sessegnon was hooked in the first half of the Wolves clash, many thought he wouldn't have been seen in the forthcoming weeks.

However, the 21-year-old was given another chance by Conte to correct what went wrong against Bruno Lage's side and just before kick-off, Dier wanted to ensure he took the chance ahead of him.

Ahead of kick-off at the Etihad Stadium, both were caught by the Sky cameras in deep conversation before both teams took to the pitch in Manchester.

Maybe Dier's presence spurred Conte's side on in general and not just Sessegnon individually as the Lilywhites started on fire as they looked to do Liverpool a big favour in the title race whilst also trying to reignite their season.

New signing Dejan Kulusevski netted in the fourth minute after some uncharacteristic defending by Man City star Ruben Dias allowed Son Heung-Min in on goal before the South Korean made the unselfish decision to lay it off to the Swedish international.
