What does Antonio Colak signing for Rangers mean for Alfredo Morelos' Ibrox future? Saturday Jury

Where does Antonio Colak fit in with questions over Alfredo Morelos' future at Rangers?

Craig Swan: Colak has to go in at the top of the pile, you’d imagine. Either alongside Morelos or his replacement. Either way, it’s a big role.

Michael Gannon: It gives Rangers an insurance policy if Morelos was to move on. The Colombian’s injury might delay his move a year though and Rangers should have the pair of them as options up top.

Andy Newport: He’s a decent option in reserve but he’s not here to replace the Colombian. Rather, he’s an upgrade on Cedric Itten. If Morelos goes, they will have a task on their hands finding someone capable of replicating his influence on the team.

How do Rangers handle Morelos, Ryan Kent and Ryan Jack entering the final 12 months of their deals?

Craig: There’s only one way you can handle them in these financial times. Sign a new deal or be sold.

Michael: Rangers are doing the right thing offering new deals. Even if the deals go unsigned, they should try to delay any sale until after the Champions League qualifiers – game changers in terms of players staying or new ones coming in.

Andy: With Joe Aribo on his way out, they may think they can take a hit on keeping Kent or Morelos. But it will be one or the other. Financially, Rangers still can’t justify letting two of their most valuable assets walk out the door for nothing.

Celtic have done their business early but what other areas need addressed by Ange Postecoglou?

Craig: With Nir Bitton gone, a central-midfielder with a bit of a dig will be needed. And another centre-back as well.

Michael: A centre-half is still needed as it doesn’t look like Christopher Jullien will stick around, despite playing the other night. Another wide attacker would be handy and Celtic could do with a bit of muscle in the middle of the park.

Andy: They’re still shy on depth at centre-back, especially if Jullien departs, so Postecoglou will be keen to recruit there. And they need another option in the centre of midfield.

Dundee United snapped up Steven Fletcher. Can the former Scotland frontman do a job there at the age of 35?

Craig: Fletcher is a top-class player with loads of intelligence. His footballing brain is sharp enough to cover ageing legs in the Premiership.

Michael: No doubt. Fletcher is a class act and if he can stay fit then he’ll be a tremendous asset for Jack Ross at Tannadice. Pace was never his thing, so there’s no reason he can’t go on for a while yet.

Andy: Fletcher has racked up 82 games for Stoke in the English Championship over the last two years so I’d say he’s still a reliable option. It’s another exciting signing for the Terrors after the return of Dylan Levitt.
