What days is Love Island 2022 on and how long will the series last?

Love Island season is officially here and 11 contestants have entered the brand new villa in Majorca for the 2022 series. Among those taking part this year is Swansea paramedic Paige Thorne, student Liam Llewellyn from Newport, and international dressage rider Gemma Owen, who is the daughter of football legend Michael Owen.

This year's first bombshell, business owner Davide Sanclimenti from Rome, has also entered the villa and two more late arrivals, Afia Tonkmor and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, are also getting ready to join the line-up. You can read more about the new girls, here.

And while the summer of love has only just begun, many ITV2 viewers have been left wondering how many episodes are on each week, which night they air and how to watch the show on catch up.

Here's everything you need to know about Love Island 2022, including when the grand finale, which will see one couple win the show and potentially take home the £50,000 prize money, airs.

What days is Love Island 2022?

Wait for it... Love Island airs every single night of the week, except for Saturdays when ITV2 broadcasts a spin-off called Love Island: Unseen Bits. The programme is a jam-packed hour full of exclusives and behind-the-scenes from the villa.

Typically, Love Island will air on ITV2 at 9pm and is followed by Love Island: After Sun -a talk show hosted by Laura Whitmore.

When is Love Island on catch up?

Love Island streams live on the ITV Hub but those unable to watch it live can catch-up on-demand.

Episodes are normally uploaded to the Hub as soon as the show ends, which tends to be 10pm. The ITV website reads: "We want you to be able to watch our shows when it suits you, so we aim to get them onto the ITV Hub as soon as possible. Many shows, such as the soaps, dramas, and documentaries will be available to watch just after they’ve finished on TV."

How long is Love Island 2022 on for and when is the final?

It was rumoured that Love Island 2022 was set to be on for longer this year, running for a whopping 10 weeks. However, presenter Laura appeared to shut this speculation down in a preview advert for the launch in which she said it would be on for just eight weeks.

As the show started on Monday, May, 6 and as the final typically airs on a Monday this would suggest that series will end on Monday, August, 1.

Love Island continues at 9pm on weeknights on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox. For more showbiz and television stories, get our newsletter here.
