What Chelsea supporters did to Raheem Sterling on pre-season tour after Todd Boehly message

Chelsea fans welcomed Raheem Sterling to the club's Los Angeles pre-season training base with great cheer moments after the 27-year-old penned a long-term deal. The former Manchester City star was presented to Blues supporters who were waiting to get a glimpse of Thomas Tuchel's first signing of the summer.

Sterling proceeded to sign a fan's shirt as supporters clambered to get a picture of the England international. With his best years ahead of him while regarded as one of Europe's leading forwards, Todd Boehly will be hoping that his £47.5million investment continues to attract shirt signings and selfies.

And, speaking to the official Chelsea website, fans will be impressed by Sterling's first words since joining the club. He said: "First and foremost, it's a pleasure to be here. I've obviously achieved a lot in my career so far, but there is still so much more to achieve, and I'm really looking forward to doing that in a Chelsea shirt under Thomas' management.

"London is my home and where it all started for me, and it's amazing I now have the opportunity to play in front of friends and family week in, week out at Stamford Bridge. I'm really looking forward to meeting the fans there soon.

"I do want to take the opportunity to thank Todd, Behdad, the ownership group, Thomas, and all involved in the process of getting me here. I can't wait to get going now and continue to do my talking on the pitch."

Then, on the club's Instagram account, he added: "So glad to be a Chelsea player right now. Honestly can't wait to get started and yeah, let's make history together."

Boehly, excited about the signing, said: "Raheem Sterling is a serial winner, and his signing is an important step in strengthening our squad. We are delighted for Raheem to return to London with Chelsea, and we look forward to seeing his world-class talent on display at Stamford Bridge."
