Trevoh Chalobah has shown his incredible new physique as he pushes for more regular playing minutes in a Chelsea shirt. The academy graduate has put in six months of hard graft to get into better shape, and the transformation demonstrates how the hard work has reaped its rewards.
After playing 90 minutes in each of Chelsea's last seven matches before the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Chalobah has found regular action harder to come by since club football resumed before the turn of the year. He has been limited to just four starts from Chelsea's last 16 matches, but he has been determined to change his fortunes away from the pitch by getting fitter and leaner.
The 23-year-old has been working with football performance coach James Ralph to develop his body. James took to Instagram to praise the progress made by the Blues defender, as he compared two photos six months apart.

"I know this picture will get a lot of traction and rightly so - the progression that can be seen is phenomenal for a “normal” person in 6 months, let alone an elite athlete IN season, who does a lot of cardio and when Hypertrophy wasn’t even a thought," he wrote. "The reason I would want this post to get traction though is to highlight things you cannot simply see on a picture.
"Trevoh’s attitude is incredible - he (I don’t think would mind me saying this) has in the past not been as consistent. As soon as he was, and was able to commit to the long-term plan, his results have sky rocketed on all fronts - strength, power and speed.
"Always a pleasure to work with, Trevoh has been through so much to get to where he is now. Multiple loans, played in various positions and often thrown in and excelling after periods of not being involved.
"Consistency pays off." Replying to a comment asking for the weight difference between the two photos, James added: "1.5kg weight difference but likely more muscle as fat down also."
He also explained how the number of sessions per week "varies around games", but that's it's generally two-three. As this season has progressed, Chalobah has fallen down the centre-back pecking order at Stamford Bridge, not helped by the returning Wesley Fofana who recovered from a lengthy knee injury last month.
In addition to Fofana, he is also behind Thiago Silva, Kalidou Kouliabaly and January incoming Benoit Badiashile, while Marc Cucurella has also featured in Potter's back-three in recent weeks.
He will hope this body transformation will be sufficient in providing serious competition for his teammates during a hectic two-month run-in, including the Blues' massive Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid.
