Tyrone take on Kildare in round three of the Allianz Football League Division One at Healy Park on Sunday with both teams searching for their first win of the campaign.
The Lilywhites were touted to be in the relegation mix before the beginning of the Leagues having gained promotion from Division Two last season along with Mayo.
Glenn Ryan’s side gained a surprise point from their opening fixture against Kerry, but suffered a five-point loss to Donegal in Ballybofey in round two.
Yet, the All-Ireland champions also only have one point to show from their opening two games after drawing with Monaghan at home before shipping a six-point loss to an in-form Armagh team earlier this month.
That game provoked headlines for all the wrong reasons with referee David Gough issuing five red cards following an unsavoury injury-time melee.
Tyrone’s captain Padraig Hampsey, Footballer of the Year Kieran McGeary and defenders Michael McKernan and Peter Harte are all suspended as a result, while Armagh’s Greg McCabe was also dismissed.
The Red Hands did request a hearing in an attempt to have the red cards overturned, but the decisions were upheld and the quartet will miss Sunday's must-win game.
