Down and Ulster champions Kilcoo face Kilmacud Crokes of Dublin in the All-Ireland Club Senior Football Championship final at Croke Park.
The game forms part of a double-header at HQ with the senior hurling decider between Ballygunner of Waterford and Kilkenny’s Ballyhale Shamrocks getting the action underway at 3pm.
At 5pm, Kilcoo will bid to win their first All-Ireland title having lost out to the great Corofin team in the 2019/20 final.
The Magpies were outdone in extra-time against the Galway kingpins, who became the first side to win three successive senior club football titles.
The pandemic denied Kilcoo the chance to return to Croke Park last season, but they’ve been tipped to go one step further ever since they defeated a hotly-fancied Glen outfit in the provincial semi-final.
Mickey Moran’s men needed extra-time to see off the challenge of St Finbarr’s of Cork in the All-Ireland semi-final while Aidan Branagan has had his red card rescinded and is cleared to play.
Kilmacud Crokes, two-time All-Ireland champions, defeated Pádraig Pearse’s of Roscommon 1-11 to 0-8 in their semi-final at Kingspan Breffni.
