What channel is England vs Iran on? Kick-off time, TV and live stream details

England will be looking to show they mean business at this year’s World Cup by avoiding any slip-up against Iran in their Group B opener on Monday.

The Three Lions followed up 2018’s run to the semi-finals with a runners-up medal at the European Championships last summer, but Nations League relegation in September has cast doubts over whether they can replicate any of that success in Qatar this winter.

Looking to take advantage of England’s poor run of form in 2022 is Iran, who are targeting a shock qualification from Group B in their third consecutive World Cup finals. The 2019 Asian Cup semi-finalists will hope to make the most of their underdog status against the Three Lions.

When is England vs Iran?

England vs Iran will kick-off at 1pm (GMT) on Monday, November 21 at the 45,416-capacity Khalifa International Stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar.

This will be the first ever meeting between the two sides, which is in large part due to Iran having only played at five previous World Cup’s, while they have never made it past the group stage.

As for England, this will be their seventh consecutive tournament appearance and 16th overall. Since lifting the trophy in 1966, the Three Lions have achieved two fourth-place finishes, coming in 1990 and most recently 2018.

How to watch

The game will be televised on BBC One, while the match can also be streamed live on BBC iPlayer and the BBC iPlayer app, as well as the BBC Sport website. Coverage begins at 12pm.

Alternatively, highlights will also be available on the 2022 FIFA World Cup highlights show at 22:40pm on BBC One, which is also available to stream via BBC iPlayer and the BBC iPlayer app.

Match odds
