What changes would you like to see on the buses?

Bus services across Greater Manchester are heading for a revamp with extra funding in the pipeline and mayor Andy Burnham's plans to take them under public control. But we want to know which changes you think should be a priority?

March saw Mr Burnham's plan to bring buses under control of the region given the green light, with the scheme currently due to roll out in three phases from 2023 to 2025.

This is despite protestations from bus companies who are currently appealing a court ruling on the matter.

Some have already shared their opinions on what should happen, with one person saying: " Clean, reliable, affordable hop-on, hop-off buses one ticket for the day - any bus, frequent services, smaller buses."

Another highlighted fares as a key issue, saying: " Prices ASAP. He (Mr Burnham) complained that it was £4 from Middleton to Manchester and within next few weeks it's due to rise again.

"The quicker the fares are sorted the more chance you have of people using public transport. It's currently quicker, cheaper and easier for my family to get a taxi from our house in Middleton even though we live on the bus route."

Others urged Mr Burnham to heed those that use the buses most, with one person saying: " The people that use the buses all the time know what changes are needed . Unless he listens to the commuters on this, then there's not point him wasting any more of our money."
