What Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers told Andy Halliday

Andy Halliday has revealed what Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers told him during their light-hearted exchange on Boxing Day.

The pair were seen enjoying a laugh on the touchline at the end of Celtic's 4-0 win over Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership on December 26.

Appearing on Open Goal, 'Well star Halliday has detailed what was said in the conversation.

It all started with Paul Slane asking Halliday about the situation.

The midfielder responded: "Do you know what he actually said? He said 'I enjoy listening to you on the radio'.

"He didn't say Open Goal, he said 'I enjoy listening to you on the radio'.

"I said I was choking for you (Celtic) to lose so I can cane you, then it was just a wee laugh."

Host Si Ferry then mentioned that the Northern Irishman had a grip on Halliday's face and delivered a slap to his cheek while chatting.

Halliday joked: "It was progressively getting harder. I'm 33 years old, you don't need to tap me on the face!"

Rodgers was of course referring to Halliday's regular appearances as a pundit on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard.
