Aaron Ramsdale faced significant criticism following his £24million move to Arsenal but he has more-than since justified his price tag with his recent displays. The former Sheffield United man has kept nine clean sheets in 18 appearances with the Gunners deservedly at the top of the table.
Alongside seven Premier League clean sheets, Ramsdale has also conceded the joint-least amount of goals this season, level with his England team-mate Nick Pope for Newcastle United, on 11.
Club performances saw Ramsdale included in Gareth Southgate's World Cup squad alongside fellow Premier League goalkeepers Pope and Jordan Pickford.

The Arsenal No. 1 seems to be the third choice Three Lions keeper but his value in the dressing room certainly justifies his spot in the squad, especially after he explained how he was able to help Gunners team-mate Bukayo Saka following his Euro 2020 final penalty miss.
While Pickford and Pope do seem to be above Ramsdale in the pecking order, his recent training displays may place him in a good light if Southgate decides to make a change in between the sticks or injury strikes one of the two other goalkeepers.
In a training video posted by England, Kalvin Phillips fires an effort towards Ramsdale which forces him into a diving save to his left which garners the complimentary response of ‘Save Rambo’, from Pope.
His Arsenal team-mate then strikes the rebound on the volley but Ramsdale manages to parry it onto the post and then grab the ball as it rolls across the line.
Pope then shouts, ‘Yes, love it Rambo', while his Newcastle team-mate Callum Wilson looks on in shock as to how the ball has not nestled in the back of the net.
