Arsenal star Thomas Partey will face a huge test in Ghana's World Cup opening match as they take on Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal.
Partey has been a key player for the Gunners throughout the 2022/23 campaign so far this season and his new role in midfield has allowed Granit Xhaka to become more influential. The Ghana international is one of the Black Stars' best players and will be vital to any success Ghana have at the World Cup in Qatar as they aim to qualify from Group H.
Ghana feature in one of the toughest groups at the tournament, being drawn alongside Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea. Ahead of the tournament in Qatar, Partey faced Xhaka's Switzerland side as the two countries prepared for the World Cup with the Swiss getting off to the perfect start after beating Cameroon earlier today.

The Black Stars begin their World Cup campaign with a huge match against Portugal, with now free agent Ronaldo looking to win the iconic trophy in what is surely his last World Cup. Ahead of the match against Portugal, Partey met with the Ghana president Nana Akufo-Addo as Ghana aim to reach progress out of Group H.
Partey will be hoping to keep Ronaldo quiet with Ghana set to lineup in a very defensive formation as the Black Stars aim to reach the knockout rounds for the first time since 2014. The Portuguese superstar has been linked with a shock move to the Emirates Stadium in January which could see Partey lineup alongside Ronaldo after the World Cup if the 37-year-old was to sign for Mikel Arteta's side as a free agent.
