THE UK’s new prime minister will be officially appointed at Balmoral next week in a break from tradition.
Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak will find out which of the them has won the Tory leadership election next Monday, with final votes due in on Friday.
They will then travel to Aberdeenshire to be sworn in whilst outgoing Prime Minister Boris Johnson resigns to the Queen.

How and when is Boris Johnson coming to Scotland?
Boris Johnson will address the nation one last time as Prime Minister early on Tuesday morning.
He will then use his ministerial jet to fly to Aberdeen airport before announcing his resignation to the Queen at Balmoral.
His successor will be appointed by the monarch shortly afterwards. It is believed that senior officials will travel with Johnson to greet his successor at Balmoral.
Johnson will have to make his own way back from Scotland.
What about the new Prime Minister?
Following on from their official appointment on Tuesday, either Liz Truss or Rishi Sunak will travel back to London on the official plane which will arrive in Downing Street in time for a speech at 4pm.
Upon returning to London, the new Prime Minister will begin a cabinet reshuffle with Suella Braverman, Jacob Rees-Mogg and Kwasi Kwarteng all tipped to be awarded positions.
The new team of ministers will then meet a 9am on Wednesday before the prime minister goes head to head with Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer in the new leader's first appearance at Prime Minister’s Questions.
