Manchester United conceded a stoppage-time goal to lose to Brighton in the Premier League on Thursday night.
Erik ten Hag's side looked as though they would be coming away from the Amex Stadium with a point, but the Seagulls scored a penalty in the ninth minute of added-time after Luke Shaw handled the ball inside the penalty area. Alexis Mac Allister calmly converted from the spot to condemn the Reds to their eighth league defeat of the campaign.
United, who sit two points behind third-placed Newcastle, have five top-flight matches remaining before the end of the season, with Ten Hag's men travelling to West Ham on Sunday afternoon for their next game. They will be keen to bounce back with a victory after the disappointing defeat to Roberto De Zerbi's side.

Ten Hag's Martial anger
Ten Hag appeared frustrated with Anthony Martial's lack of pressing in the first half. The United manager, stood on the touchline, slapped his thighs in anger before shouting in the Frenchman's direction. Before half-time, Ten Hag even cursed after some miscontrol from the forward.
In February, MEN Sport reported that United were aiming to sell Martial in the summer amid plans to sign a new long-term striker. He is a player that Ten Hag likes, but his injury issues this season have been a problem and his lack of availability has increased the burden on Marcus Rashford.
Raging at the ref
Rashford was on the receiving end of a strong challenge from Moises Caicedo, and both he and his manager were frustrated with the tackle and lack of punishment. Ten Hag, having already remonstrated with the fourth official and linesman, made sure referee Andre Marriner knew what he thought about his decision when he walked over towards the touchline.
The United attacker stayed down for a short period of time after the tackle. There was a slight worry, even if just for a split second, that it might force him off. However, the England international was able to run it off and come back on after having treatment from the physios.
Fernandes and Mac Allister clash
Despite taking out Bruno Fernandes with a late challenge, Adam Webster bizarrely had the gall to suggest the Portuguese ace was overexaggerating. Granted, United's No.8 has been guilty of play-acting in the past, but he had clearly been fouled and the Brighton defender got booked for a reason.
When Fernandes eventually got back to his feet, World Cup winner Mac Allister had some words for the Reds man. The pair had a very brief back-and-forth, with the Argentine clearly feeling the United midfielder had made the most of the foul. Unsurprisingly, his opponent had a different opinion on the matter.
Antony's substitution reaction
There could be an argument that Antony was somewhat fortunate to remain on the pitch. The Brazilian winger was furious that he was not awarded a free-kick after being brought down, so he opted to take out his frustration on Mac Allister and Lewis Dunk. He hacked the Argentine to the ground - a tackle that a different official might have considered to be serious foul play.
With that in mind, it came as little surprise when the Reds man was jeered by the home fans when he was substituted for Jadon Sancho. Antony wasn't fazed by the reaction as he pointed proudly to the United badge as he took his seat in the dugout. Ultimately, though, it was the home fans who had the last laugh.
