What Andy Robertson said about Trent Alexander-Arnold's assist as Liverpool beat West Ham

Andy Robertson has aimed a playful dig at Trent Alexander-Arnold following Liverpool’s win over West Ham.

The Reds claimed a 1-0 win over West Ham in the Premier League on Saturday night, in a close contest at Anfield.

Sadio Mane got the decisive goal of the game in the first half, reacting to a volley from Alexander-Arnold to just stay onside.

The assist was Alexander-Arnold’s 16th in the top flight this season, which beats his previous best of 15 which he achieved in the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons.

When it was put to Alexander-Arnold about his personal best, the right-back began to reflect on his achievement - only for Robertson to interrupt.

“Hopefully I’ll add more to the tally,” began Alexander-Arnold.

Before Robertson replied: “That one was a miss-hit shot, wasn't it?”

Alexander-Arnold then added: “They all count, they all count.

“Like Robbo said, I have dragged it but I try and contribute as much as I can for the team.

“I think we both do. We pride ourselves on that.

“We want to help win games. Kind of changing the game from a full-back perspective and going and winning games for the team, so I’m happy to contribute.”
