Allan McGregor has revealed his message to Jack Butland as he made his final appearance at Ibrox.
The Rangers legend left the field at Ibrox for the final time 37 minutes into his testimonial match against Newcastle.
McGregor, 41, received a standing ovation as he walked off the pitch in the first half to be replaced by summer signing Butland.
And after taking the applause from the crowd and congratulations from his team-mates, McGregor stopped to give a message to Butland as he made his way onto the pitch for his debut at Ibrox.
Rangers TV cameras broadcasting the match caught the moment McGregor leaned into Butland and gave words of wisdom to the new No1.
Now, McGregor has revealed his message to Butland as the substitution took place.
"I did [have a word with Butland at the substitution], take it you want to know what I said, aye?" joked McGregor.
He then added: "I just said to him, 'Go and enjoy it mate, it's the best club in the world'.
"I said just go and enjoy it."
And quizzed on his future, McGregor was coy as he admitted he is unsure what comes next after his final Ibrox bow.
He said: "I don't know, I can't say a shower again because I've had that already.
"No, I'm not sure. It has still been early, only seven weeks.
"I'm not sure, we'll see what happens. Something might come up, something might not."
