What Aaron Rodgers said to Tua Tagovailoa after their Week 16 matchup

The Miami Dolphins were unable to secure a victory this past weekend, as they were downed by the Green Bay Packers at Hard Rock Stadium to fall to 8-7 on the season.

While Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers outplayed his Dolphins counterpart, Tua Tagovailoa, he had some kind things to say to him and about him after the final whistle blew.

“Some of the stuff I actually said this week, I just really appreciate the way that he handles his business and his professionalism,” Rodgers said. “Just the way that he goes about speaking about his teammates, I think he’s got a really good humility about him. He’s a good humble kid. Very talented. I enjoyed watching him play in college. I like the way he goes about his business. I think he handles things the right way with a lot of class, a lot of respect. I told him to take care of himself, too. He’s had some pretty vicious hits this year. But he’s a good kid. He’s got a long career in the league to look forward to. There are days like this, but he still threw for a hell of a lot of yards, and they’ve got a lot of great weapons, and they’re still in the hunt, as well.”

With Tagovailoa landing in the concussion protocol for the second time this season with a third potential head injury, there are doubts regarding both his short and long-term future in this game. However, Rodgers is right about the way he handles himself. Through all of the adverse situations he went through in his first two seasons, he never said anything publicly that went against the message of the team.

Hopefully, Tagovailoa makes a decision, regarding his health, that he’s comfortable with, and he can remain healthy.
