What Aaron Ramsdale shouted to Arsenal teammate in X-rated Wolves blast

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is currently the best goalkeeper in the Premier League, according to the statistics, after securing his seventh clean sheet of the season in the 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday evening.

The England international has now kept four clean sheets in his previous five league appearances for Mikel Arteta's side as they stretched their lead at the top of the Premier League table to five points. Martin Odegaard's second half double meant the Gunners took advantage of Manchester City's 2-1 loss to Brentford earlier in the day.

Ramsdale, who cost Arsenal £25 million from Sheffield United in 2021, has grown into one of the biggest characters in Arteta's changing room and has earned plenty of praise for his performances after initially having his price tag questioned. And with him set to travel to Qatar for the World Cup with England, the 24-year-old finds himself in the best form of his career after improving his game in all areas.

As he did against Nottingham Forest and Chelsea previously, Ramsdale had very little to do against Wolves at Molineux on Saturday evening, facing only two shots on target. However, with the three points close to being secured, Ramsdale was forced to tip Daniel Podence's first-time effort behind for a corner after Oleksandr Zinchenko handed possession to Wolves.

The left-back was guilty of dwelling on the ball inside the Gunners' half, resulting in Ramsdale's clean sheet coming under threat. And the goalkeeper refused to hide his competitiveness and made sure Zinchenko was aware.

A clip posted on Twitter showed Ramsdale screaming at his teammate after denying Podence. He screamed: "Stop f*****g taking the p**s!"

After the game, Arteta revealed how important the competitive edge within his group of players is after Ramsdale's blast at Zinchenko. “I’m more focused on our way of playing and our way of living together and the atmosphere that we have in this dressing room and around Colney and the bond that we are creating with our supporters in our stadium and the relationship between every member of the club,” he said.

“That’s much more powerful and now the aim is to focus on playing better every day.”
