'What a player' - Man United fans beg for Victor Osimhen signing as Napoli ace 'shreds' Liverpool

Manchester United fans have lavished Victor Osimhen in praise following a good performance for Napoli against Liverpool in the Champions League.

Osimhen's night would only last 40 minutes due to injury but he would leave a lasting impression on Jurgen Klopp's side in the short time he was on the pitch. The Nigerian helped cause the Merseyside club plenty of problems in a first half which saw the Serie A side go in at the break 3-0 to the good.

Piotr Zielinski, Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Giovanni Simeone all found the back of the net as the hosts dominated their opponents. Osimhen could have put himself on the scoresheet with the scores at 1-0 when he was brought down in the area by Virgil van Dijk.

However, his resulting penalty was well saved by Allison but despite this, he received a good ovation as he hobbled off the pitch with injury late in the first half in Naples. Napoli would go on to add a fourth just after the break with Zielinski chipping home his second of the match before Luis Diaz curled home a response for the Premier League team.

United were linked with the forward during the summer as the Reds looked to improve their options up front. A swap deal was rumoured to be on the cards which would have seen Osimhen come to Manchester in return for Cristiano Ronaldo, however this did not materialise.

Supporters of Erik ten Hag's side were not put off the 23-year-old on Wednesday night and were calling for his signature before half-time. Here is what the fans had to say on Twitter.
