An Audi driver has been 'shamed' on social media by cops for travelling on a busy motorway with a huge pile of wooden panels stacked precariously on his roof. The motorist was pulled over on the M5 on Sunday when police spotted the grey car laden down with wood.
A shocking picture shows the estate car with dozens of large panels strapped down with thin ropes. Central Motorway Police Group tweeted: “Vehicle stopped after being seen driving along the M5.
“It’s a miracle this didn’t fall off causing injury to anyone and a danger to other road users. Driver reported - Vehicle prohibited.”
Social media users piled in with their own comments about the “plank” driver. Carl Pickering tweeted: “Maybe they were stolen panels and he was the fence?” Anya Stapleton added: “Just proves what we all know about Audi drivers – absolute planks.”
James Dixon wrote: “There’s a 100% chance the driver said ‘that’s not going anywhere’ when he tied an entire summer house to his motor.” Tony Neale said: "See the motorway jenga season has kicked off again...."
