Roy Hodgson has put out a warning to Leeds United ahead of the clash with his Watford side on Saturday, but it isn’t the kind of warning you would expect! In a clip posted to Watford’s official Twitter account, he showed that he still has plenty of quality in his 74-year-old legs.
The video, which you can see below, saw the former England manager curl a beautiful left-footed ball into the path of Hornets striker Joao Pedro who ensured the pass didn’t go to waste. The viral clip continues to be viewed by thousands of people with more than 1.5m views on Twitter.
One of those who spotted the video was Kalvin Phillips who responded brilliantly ahead of his side’s trip to Vicarage Road. He tweeted: “Praying that Roy’s not playing middle of the park on the weekend haha! What a guy and what a ball by the way.”

The Leeds star will be hoping that Hodgson’s players are not in similar form when they face the Whites on Saturday. Watford turned in a strong performance at Anfield last time out which, in spite of the 2-0 scoreline, showed that they are not yet dead and buried in the Premier League relegation battle.
Heading into the weekend, the Hornets sit eight points behind Leeds and will really need a victory if they are to avoid an immediate return to the Championship this season. Although, Jesse Marsch and his players will certainly be mindful of what their opponents are capable of as they hunt a much-needed win of their own.
