Manchester United loanee Amad scored a stunning second-half goal for Sunderland on Friday night as they beat Birmingham City 2-1 in the Championship.
Amad left United to go on loan during the summer transfer window and has made 13 appearances for Sunderland in the Championship this season. Having initially been made to wait for his chance, the Ivorian has now started five consecutive matches against Burnley, Luton Town, Huddersfield, Cardiff and now Birmingham in his bid to impress Erik ten Hag during his time away from the club.
The Black Cats took the lead in the 25th minute as Amad registered his first assist in the league this season. The 20-year-old set up Ellis Simms, on loan from Everton, with some clever play after initially appearing to have been brought to a halt on the edge of the area. The United youngster then managed to twist himself out of the challenge and send the ball wide to Simms to score past a distracted Birmingham defence.
Amad then added to the scoresheet himself in the second-half, his third goal in the last five matches, as he scored a sumptuous, curling strike four minutes after the break. The United loanee got down the right side of the Blues box and unleashed a superb left-footed curler past John Ruddy's right post.
Birmingham got back into the game with a goal of their own through Lukas Jutkiewicz in the 78th minute, but Amad's goal and assist ensured his side claimed all three points and inflict defeat on their hosts at St Andrew's for the first time since August.
United fans could not contain their excitement following the game, as they took to social media to heap praise on Amad for yet another impressive display while on loan.
