Despite the high level of uncertainty caused by the coronavirus pandemic, there is no denying that the housing market will also be a busy one.
And with the future of the economy moire cloudier than ever, many people are taking the opportunity to get their hands on a property this year
While there is still very much a housing crisis affecting this country there are still plenty of properties out there just waiting to be snapped up.
With that here's a look at what €300,000 will get you in cities across the country
Dublin
It's very difficult to get anywhere in the city centre that isn't a packed-in apartment.
The property below (€295,000 with Sherry Fitzgerald), located in the heart of Temple Bar, is about as spacious as Dublin centre apartments come. But with only one bedroom, it won't be suitable for everyone.
So, if you're looking for something a bit more sizeable than that, your best bet is on the outskirts of Dublin city.
This three-bedroom, three-bathroom semi-detached house (priced at €270,000 with McPeake Auctioneers), is a bit more suitable for families. But the house is located in the town of Tyrellstown, approximately 8 miles outside of Dublin city centre.
Belfast
As expected, €300k will take you quite far in Belfast.
The house below, currently listed with GOC Estate Agents Ltd, is a case in point. Located in Carryduff, on the outskirts of the city (but right on the major bus routes), this 4-bedroom detached house is the perfect place for a family - and at £269,950( €294,612), it means you have a lot let over.
If that's not to your liking, there's plenty of elegant townhouses within the city itself which give you plenty for your €300,000.
This three-storey, three-bed terrace house priced at £299,950 with Ulster Property Sales is located along one of the most desirable parts of the Lisburn Road, offering you all the nearby amenities, while also providing a genuinely spacious indoor setting and garden.
Galway
If you fancy scooping up a property in Ireland's cultural capital then Galway certainly has a lot to offer.
This plush 3 bedroom semi detached house is located in a beautiful suburb just a 10 minute drive from the city centre.
Located on Letteragh Road, Rahoon, also boasts a gorgeous spacious kitchen and dining area and is just five minutes walk from a bus stop which can take you right into Oran town centre.
However if you're looking for something a bit closer to the city again and have no issue with downsizing then this apartment Cluain Riocaird in Galway City will tick every box. With three beds and two baths this modern property is in an ideal location and can be snapped up for just €188,000.
Cork
While €300,000 will get you a lot of in Galway the same cannot be said for the Rebel County unfortunately.
However if you're looking for something smack bang in the middle of the centre and are seeking something very chic and modern then this apartment at Lancaster Gate, Cork Cit is a no brainer priced at €280,000
Obviously it is not suitable for families with one bed and bath however it is ideal for a couple with a stunning living and dining area and balcony views.
However if you're looking for something a bit more spacious this house located in Bishopstown in the Cork city suburbs is a dream.
It boasts modern bright interiors 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and is connected by bus to the city centre and is just 15 grand more expensive than the city apartment at €290,000.
