Wexford announced as latest location of €2m Lotto jackpot winner with search on for new millionaire

Last night's winning Lotto ticket was sold in Wexford, the National Lottery has revealed.

The €2m jackpot win on Saturday night marked the third lotto jackpot win in four draws. The life-changing fortune belongs to a Wexford player who picked the following numbers: 7, 19, 24, 30, 36, 44 and a bonus ball of 41.

Lotto bosses confirmed Wexford as the lucky county and will be announcing the winning shop on Monday. Locally, lotto fever is taking hold with the search on for the country's newest millionaire.

Thousands worth of other prizes were taken home by Irish Lotto players on Saturday night. 86,000 players won prizes in the Lotto and Lotto Plus draws.

The results for Saturday night were:

Lotto - top prize jackpot of €2,000,000

7, 19, 24, 30, 36, 44 and a bonus ball of 41

Lotto Plus One - top prize jackpot of €1,000,000

9, 20, 22, 23, 32, 47 and a bonus ball of 12

Lotto Plus Two - top prize jackpot worth €250,000

13, 17, 19, 20, 25, 32 and a bonus ball of 14

Lotto raffle worth a prize of €500 : 6398,

The main Lotto jackpot has been won twice more in the last 10 days - with two lucky punters scooping the top prize in the draw for the last two Wednesdays.

That started with an €8.9 million winner in Meath, who bought their ticket in the Lowthe’s Londis in Duleek.

Store owner Seamus Lowthe was completely shocked to get the call that his store sold the winning life-changing ticket;

"The first thing I did was check my own ticket as I did the Lotto on Wednesday night for the first time in a while. I was in complete shock when the local rep called me the following day to let me know we’d sold the winning ticket. We’re a local family run store, open thirty-eight years and selling the Lotto thirty years and this is our first ever big win. It’s complete magic for us”, he said.

Then, earlier this week, an XL store in Mount Merrion, Dublin sold the jackpot-winning stub worth €2.3 million.

Owner of the store, Adrian Peters, has been running the shop thirty-eight years and was delighted to get hear the good news.

He said: “This is our first big Jackpot win, yes. We’re open since 1973, so this year we’ll be fifty years in business. We’re a small family run, local shop in the heart of Mount Merrion. We’re surrounded by a cluster of shops like the local hairdresser and chemist. Ah it was great to get the phone call that we’d sold the winning ticket. In these current times, it’s nice to get a bit of positive news.
