Wetherspoons punters have been left completely bamboozled over the usually cheap and cheerful pub chain's new prices - albeit, there's a simple explanation behind the hikes.
Customers were left in a state of shock and awe recently after looking down at new look menus, only to be greeted by surging prices - with a soup dish costing £4.03, nachos £5.54 and a panini and drink combo setting you back £5.27.
And one social media star recently took to TikTok to share her state of confusion after a recent visit to one of the UK's Spoon's branches - in a video which has went viral.

The Mirror reports that @brodie_bites_ was left wondering if she'd drank a little more than she realised after looking at the menu itself, saying: "Can someone please explain what on Earth has happened to Wetherspoons prices? We went to Spoons on the way home from Glasgow the other night just to grab something to eat because we had been drinking and realised we hadn't actually eaten yet.
"The point of this video is because for the first time in ages we've been to Spoons and normally it's like £1.29 for coleslaw, £10.59 for a burger and a drink - what the hell is this? £4.03 for soup, £5.54 for nachos - like what? £5.27 for a panini and a drink - what is actually going on?
"It continues throughout the whole menu, such bizarre pricing and even the side dishes, it's 81p for a side of chilli and £4.03 for chips, like I just don't understand it."
And others took to the comments section of the video to voice their own qualms with the price rises, which had seemingly fluctuated since they last visited their local Wetherspoon branch. One, wrote: "Almost £15 for 3 sharing things I swear they were like £10 last year."
Another, added: "Its gone expensive for what it is tbh," with a third, chipping in: "Mad isn't it."
However, there's a pretty simple explanation behind it all. Last month, the chain announced that they were increasing all of their prices by 7.5 per cent across their 843 pubs in the UK and Ireland. So for example, a pint of Carlsberg, which used to have a Spoon's RRP of £2.39 is now £2.57, with Leffe rising from £3.85 to £4.14.
Speaking to The Star, pub chain spokesman Eddie Gherson, said: "Wetherspoon has increased prices on food and drink by 7.5 percent. We believe that our prices are still very competitive in all the locations that we trade."
