Wetherspoon announces 14 changes to menu

Wetherspoon managers have announced big changes their food menu which will affect their popular weekly Steak and Curry Clubs. There will also be new additions to the breakfast options and new chicken dishes.

The menu changes will take effect immediately from Wednesday (March 30) with 14 new items being added to the menu. Some of the new additions will include four new boneless 'chicken in a basket' dishes along with southern-fried, plain bites and strips. There will also be meat-free Quorn choices for vegetarians.

The chicken will also come with a range of dips including barbecue, sweet chili, honey-glaze and a soy sauce option. Other chicken menu changes will see chargrilled fillets with gravy and mash, chips or a jacket potato.

The popular Curry club will now offer chicken korma, sweet potato curry and chicken vindaloo alongside new sides such as onion bhaji and vegetable samosas. The Steak Club will also have new additions with a five-ounce or 10-ounce gammon steak offered with egg, peas, mushroom and tomato with a choice of chips or jacket potato.

There will also be new healthier options with a fruit salad being added to the breakfast menu along with small pancakes. However fans of the current classics at Wetherspoon pubs need not worry as the pub chain has confirmed that all items on the original favourites will remain in place but prices will vary at different venues.

The chain pub and restaurant operates multiple venues in the city centre, in Beeston, Sherwood, Arnold and West Bridgford. There have already been changes to the drink prices which the company announced earlier this year. Drinkers can now expect to pay out around an average of 10p more on drinks at pubs across the UK.

Meanwhile, Wetherspoon pubs across Nottingham will be offering £2.10 pints for real-ale drinkers across a 12-day festival. The chain will kick off the real-ale festival on Wednesday, March 30, and will last until Sunday, April 10.
