Wet and windy weather set to continue in the North East according to Met Office forecast

The wet and windy weather looks set to continue as we head towards the weekend.

The Met Office predicts that strong winds and and rain will ease throughout the day on Friday, however the weather will remain overcast for the most part. This is expected to continue into Saturday.

The official Met Office forecast for Friday is: "Generally cloudy, with light rain and drizzle arriving from the west in the morning. Gradually drying out through the afternoon, strong winds easing. Occasional clearer spells into the evening. Maximum temperature 12 °C."

The outlook for Saturday to Monday is: "Breezy and cloudy Saturday with rain or drizzle. Cooler Sunday with lighter winds, dry with sunny spells. Cloudier Monday, perhaps with some drizzle. Frosty Sunday and Monday mornings."
