Jesse Marsch says Weston McKennie has been outstanding in training this week as he contemplates handing the Leeds United new boy a start against Nottingham Forest this weekend. The United States international has signed a loan deal at Elland Road until the end of the season.
The midfielder has a wealth of experience in both Germany and Italy and supporters could get their first glimpse of the 24-year-old this weekend. McKennie and Tyler Adams struck up an impressive partnership with the United States at the World Cup earlier this season.
The pair were instrumental as the US reached the last-16, only to be knocked out of the competition by the Netherlands.

"Yes," Marsch said when asked if the new arrival was in contention to start against Forest. "Firstly, Weston is a competitor, he believes in himself.
"He's got incredible flexibility and can play almost any position on the pitch and I've seen that. He's aggressive, he's confident and he has quality.
"At Schalke they played a little bit similar to the things that I like to do, so now even sitting and talking to him about what we think his role will be, he's pretty clear on how to integrate himself. Training over the past week, he's been outstanding.
"He's fit. He's ready. So yeah, of course he's in consideration to start on Sunday and certainly to be in the squad."
